Work Request Submittal
The Work Order Center is responsible for the distribution of all work requests to the appropriate Physical Plant Supervisor during normal business hours. We use an online work order management system called SchoolDude MaintenanceDirect to document all requests from start to completion. Students, faculty, and staff may submit work requests by emailing umwoc@lsxythnjy.com and the Work Order Center staff monitoring the inbox will enter the request into MaintenanceDirect. Maintenance shops close at 3:30 p.m.; therefore, any non-emergency request submitted after this time will not be processed until the next day.

Emergency Work Requests
An emergency may be defined as any situation wherein people, equipment or facilities are in danger of being damaged. Requests classified as emergencies should always be called in. Examples of emergencies are flooding, no hot water throughout building, total power outage, AC not working, broken window, etc. UM responds to emergencies 24 hours a day with the help of UMPD after hours.

Departmental Service Charges
Physical Plant Labor: Hanging pictures, moving keyboard trays, moving phone lines, adding a wall jack for a telephone, additions and renovations of spaces, providing power for an event (extension cords, portable power and breaker panels), assembling furniture, maintenance of lab or exercise equipment, vandalism repairs in residence halls and painting other than regular maintenance.
Moving & Special Event Setups: Moving of tables, chairs, plants, platforms, boxes, stages and furniture; setting up for department or club special events; summer conference and camp setups. Items to be moved to/from surplus, disposed of, or moved to new locations should be clearly marked.
Custodial Services: Cleanup after department and club special events, cleanup after athletic events that occur outside normal custodial work hours, cleanup associated with vandalism in residence halls.
